Occupational Safety
The Occupational Safety Program promotes health and safety procedures and assists the university community in identifying, evaluating and eliminating occupational and workplace hazards that can cause illnesses or injuries.
Written programs are provided to support voluntary compliance with federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations and standards to ensure employees are provided with workplaces free of recognized hazards. Written programs are available for Hearing Conservation, Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication and Respiratory Protection.

Material Handling
Material handling is the transporting of a load by hand or bodily force. It includes lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, moving or carrying. The goal of this program is to protect workers from the risk of injury while performing material handling on the workplace. Hearing Conservation
The hearing conservation program provides information for the protection of 成人头条 employees from long term hearing loss associated with noise levels in the workplace. All employees whose noise exposure equals or exceeds an 8-hour time weighted average of 85 decibels need to be enrolled in a hearing conservation program. If enrolled, employees will be required to wear hearing protection devices, as needed to decrease noise exposure levels.
Confined Spaces
The purpose of 成人头条's Confined Space Entry Program is to set procedures that will ensure workers safe entry into confined spaces to perform routine tasks associated with their employment. This procedure is designed to provide safety requirements in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Confined
Space Standard, 1910.146 and assist 成人头条 in achieving the overall goal of a safer work place.

When working with animals it is important to be aware of the risk of developing allergies from the animals you work with. Animal-related allergies are one of the most significant health hazards faced by laboratory animal workers.

Respiratory Protection Program
The purpose of the Respiratory Protection Program is to ensure the protection of all 成人头条 personnel from respiratory hazards through the proper use of approved respirators. Job-specific respirators are recommended by the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S). Procedures apply to all 成人头条 faculty, students, and staff. All employees required to wear a respirator that has a tight-fitting face piece must be properly fit tested.
